Walter Ray Out of the Hunt in Brentwood

Walter Ray Williams Jr. finally entered a non regular Tour tournament he couldn't win. At least I'm not aware of his having bowled in any other PBA tournaments since he won the first senior tournament he entered and followed that up with a regional title.

But he just lost the fifth and deciding game in the Round of 24 to Sammy Ventura today at the PBA Senior Northern California Classic in Brentwood. He lost that game 245 to 247. Earlier in the match, he shot 280 and 275 back-to-back.

Ventura, who must be feeling pretty good right now, advanced to the Round of 16 to face Paul Danforth. Others in the Round of 16 include Ron Mohr, Tom Baker, Harry Sullins, Ernie Schlegel, and local favorites Ross Packard and Noel Vazquez.

Go Ross and Noel.
